Yes, officially the WTS says that sex can only happen at night and not during the day.
Blondie,
Could you give me the reference to this unbelievable assertion?
so this is what my soon to be ex says to me today...the same person who is courting wooing and flirting with a sister and has been for a very long time even way before i told him i wanted a divorce.
he tells me that they "dont spy on people any more to get proof" that my just telling him i did or him telling the elders that i did is "sufficient" for him to be free.
he also said hes not allowed to talk to said sister any more because she is "spiritually free" but not divorced yet!

searching the new world translation transmutation and examining it with the king james has opened my eyes to a few things not that i didnt notice and wonder about these before, i did i just ignored it and trusted the faithfull and discreet slave driver at the time.. in john 5:4 of the king james bible it says- for an angel went down at a certain season into the pool and troubled the water whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.. in john 5:4 of the n.w.t it says 4-- absolutley nothing?
they left it blank probably because this doesnt fit in with the usual traditional bullcrud beliefs.. john 20:25 says- consequently the other disciples would say to him " we have seen the lord" but he said to them unless i see in his hands the print of the nails and stick my finger into the print of the nails and stick my hand into his side i will certainly not believe [ although centuries later we expect you all to believe without sticking anything anywhere- made up bit .
main point there though is wasnt jesus crucified on a torture stake.. thats funny i thought jesus had one nail put through his wrists.not two nails.. does anyone have any more evidence of alterations in the new world translation?
New International Version (Romans, Chap. 10)
5 Moses writes this about the righteousness that is by the law: “The person who does these things will live by them.” [a] 6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’” [b] (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 “or ‘Who will descend into the deep?’” [c] (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart,” [d] that is, the message concerning faith that we proclaim: 9 If you declare with your mouth,“Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. 11 As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.” [e] 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” [f]
Above “name of the Lord” referred clearly to Jesus
New World Transmutation (Romans Chap. 10)
For Moses writes that the man that has done the righteousness of the Law will live by it. 6 But the righteousness resulting from faith speaks in this manner: “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ that is, to bring Christ down; 7 or, ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ that is, to bring Christ up from the dead.” 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your own mouth and in your own heart”; that is, the “word” of faith, which we are preaching. 9 For if you publicly declare that ‘word in your own mouth,’ that Jesus is Lord , and exercise faith in your heart that God raised him up from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one exercises faith for righteousness, but with the mouth one makes public declaration for salvation.
11 For the Scripture says: “None that rests his faith on him will be disappointed.” 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for there is the same Lord over all, who is rich to all those calling upon him. 13 For “everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.” 14 However, how will they call on him in whom they have not put faith? How, in turn, will they put faith in him of whom they have not heard? How, in turn, will they hear without someone to preach? 15 How, in turn, will they preach unless they have been sent forth? Just as it is written: “How comely are the feet of those who declare good news of good things!”
back in 1992 when i was slowly extricating my way out of the wacthtower, there was no internet, smart phones or any other type of quick data download available.
i had basically 3 choices to obtain viewpoints from ex-jw's.. #1 - go to go to the library and look for books critical of the society.
#2 - go to a christian book store to look for the same.. #3 - order item like these from addresses or phone numbers listed in the back of these publications.. and while doing any of these things, you were always looking over your shoulder to see if any "brothers" were around.. the problem i experienced is that virtually all of these books, while giving you good reason to doubt the watchtower, always pointed to "christendom" as the way you needed to go.
I jumped out from born in catholic straight into full blown atheism. Later, in an effort to please my JW girlfriend and later my wife, I tried the Bible. I found the Gospels very moving but not convincing as a diivine message. The rest of the Bible is no better than the Iliad or the Aeneid, full of myth. Actually, I find the Bible is much worse because it tries to sell a God that is perfect, but acts like a very imperfect human. Today, I am trying to be less radical by calling myself deist, but reality is that I always gravitate towards atheism.
have any of you got a hand on this book?
Message me your email and I will send you both the Pay Attention to Yourselves and the Flock book and the newer elders manual, Shepherd the Flock of God 2010 in PDF
How do I PM someone. I need the PDF of the elders book
i was thinking about this question recently after being at the meeting when new pioneers were announced for the 2013 service year.. we have a dozen or so pioneers in the congregation, and most are in their 20's.
some absolutely love the things they are taught and can't wait to spread the good news.. others in the congregation are going through the motions, tired of hearing the same old same old but have no way to change things now.
then there are a couple like me.
Mr Paul Grundi,
Thanks a million for your great effort and excellent information in your website. I think your site is the best of all. The rest are very good, but not as good.

I have never been a JW. However I can claim that I woke up when I was about 13. I was a dedicated student with perfect grades and I found the scientific method and science in general more appealing than the punishing God of the Catholic Church who would burn me in hell if I didn't attend mass every Sunday. Later, when I was about 20, one of my brothers became a JW. Back then, the little I knew about JW's religion indicated that it was even goofier than the Catholic church, but never cared about finding the details. Fast forward to age 29 and you will find my JW brother introducing me to a beautiful young JW lady, whom I married a year later. I took advantage of the surplus of women in Kingdom Halls and stole one of the best ones. Two wonderful children came out of this union. I got lazy about preventing the brainwashing of my two kids in the Kingdom Hall, so today I have the daunting task of removing the nocive program that has been implanted in their innocent heads. It's not easy to wake them up. My daughter is 16 and baptized, my son is 12 and he is a JW in his heart only. I was about their age when I gave the finger to "God". It was rather easy to do it completely on my own. For this reason I am amazed at how strong the BS from the Watchtower can be for kids who are born ins.
Today I am proud to have followed the path of two of my favorite philosopher/scientist: Baruch Spinoza and Albert Einstein... God?, maybe, but definitely not from the Bible, not a personal God who intervenes in humans affairs.
I noticed the Hispanic congregations in the north west part of Los Angeles area had a significant increase during the 90's and early 2000's, but lately they are stagnant, even shrinking in many cases. Young people are no longer attracted to their parents religion, and many are disfellowshipped and never come back. In the congregation that I attended until recently there are 7 or 8 elders, most of them had been raised in the truth or have been JW's for 30 or more years. The trend recently is that there's never enough good prospects for the MS positions because there is not enough converts to fill those positions and the young who have been raised in the "truth" have little interest, or even aversion to the job. I think, based on my observations, the WTS's downward trend among Hispanic JW's living in the U.S. started few years ago.
can someone direct me to that quote ?
i think it was back in the 80s?
i have looked and can't find it anywhere?.
Jesus gets the "credit" for introducing 'thought crimes' into the lexicon of Xianity, making it clear that simply looking at a woman with lust in one's mind constitutes a sin. Thinking of sinning BECOMES the same as actually sinning.
So let's not white-wash the ultimate source of the JW concept, but give "credit" (or blame) where it's due: the idea of thought crime IS part-and-parcel of Jesus' teachings (unless you choose to ignore passages of Jesus' words, as if the NT is an Ala Carte deal with you free to pick-and-choose the bits you like, ignoring the rest).
Well said King Solomon. The WTS has been extremely creative in interpreting Bible verses to create doctrines and resurrect old prophecies, but there are places in the Bible where the abundant "creativity" of the WTS is not needed to manipulate and control others.
has anyone seen this?
it's rich.
it's too bad that this will blow right over the heads of jehovah's witnesses.
You stole my thunder. The article is a gem that if heeded by JW's would empty the WTS of its members
